The above is the manufacturer’s recommended feeding guidelines, however, this may not work for your cat. Each cat is unique therefore it is important to take into account your cat’s age, wet food intake, and activity level before deciding on a feeding schedule. Always discuss with your veterinarian if you have any concerns about switching your cat into a new variety of food and follow the transition instructions below. Make sure to provide access to clean, fresh water at all times.

Transition Instructions

It is best to make a slow transition from the existing food to a new food, ideally over 5-10 days. Start by adding 25% of the new food to 75% of the old food and feed that for the first three days. Introduce 50 – 50 of the old and new food for the next few days. Toward the end of the 10-day cycle, add 75% of the new food to 25% of the old food. Make sure to keep an extra eye on your cat through this transition to see if there are any changes in the eating habits or if they start vomiting, having diarrhea or feeling constipated. If any problems start to occur, stop the transition and consult your vet immediately.

The Bottom Line

Taste of the Wild Rocky Mountain Grain-Free Dry Cat Food prides itself on using quality ingredients to give your cat a wholesome and nutritious diet. The food focuses on digestive health by including prebiotics and species-specific probiotics which are added to the kibble after it is cooked so your cat gets the live, active cultures. You will also find chelated minerals which means that they can attach easily to proteins for absorption during the digestion process. In addition, marine-sourced omega 3 and plant-sourced omega 6 work together to give your cat great support for skin and coat health.

Overall, this is a good quality dry cat food with no grain, corn, wheat, fillers, artificial flavors, colors or preservatives and gets a big thumbs up!
